For those of you that don’t know, Stephen and I just launched our new business, TogTools. We are providing business training and tools for new photographers and we are so excited!
We are even more stoked for the launch of our First Year Photographer program today!
We have an awesome group of new photographers getting started with us and can’t wait to get to know them better and help them develop their businesses over the next year!
We just wanted to take a few moments to share a little bit about First Year Photographer, for those of you that aren’t familiar with what we are doing or interested in starting a photography business yourself! First of all, this has been a dream of ours for a long time 🙂 We have been helping photographers one-on-one with their businesses over the last few years. We quickly noticed a trend in the issues and problems that new photographers were facing, in fact they happened to be the same things we came against when we were getting started 🙂 And we wanted to find a way to help on a larger scale.
Stephen and I created First Year Photographer from the ground up to help new photographers build a solid foundation for their business in the first year so that they can succeed and thrive in the industry.
The program is broken down into Four Phases:
- Phase One: 12 Week Intensive on Business Fundamentals (includes: Business Model Canvas for Photographers, Financing your Business, Name & Register Your Business, Obtain Required Licenses and Permits, All About Insurance, Filing & Paying Taxes, Setting Your Pricing, Business Management, Forms & Contracts and Protecting Your Images)
- Phase Two: Create a Platform for Connection (includes: Portfolio Building, Personal Branding, Website & Social Media)
- Phase Three: Create a Platform for Trust & Referrals (includes: Client Relations, Selling, Marketing & Advertising)
- Phase Four: Create a Platform for Serving (includes: Networking, Getting Published, Never Stop Learning)
Each week, we also tie-in recommended materials (books, blogs, podcast episodes) and related vendors & discounts (when available).
Some other things we will be providing to help along the way: One-on-one and group coaching, FYP Community, Live Webinars, and the TogTools Podcast, where we will be interviewing professional photographers who share their stories and business advice.
