I just wanted to spend a few minutes today talking about how to create the perfect photo for your Save the Date or Wedding Invitation. But, in order to talk about that, I need to start by sharing why we LOVE engagement sessions!

We believe that having an engagement session is important for several reasons, which is why we have chosen to include one with all of our Wedding Collections!
First, this time allows you, as a couple, to get comfortable in front of the camera with us, and figure out how we work best together before your big day. Plus, we can learn about all of your fun little quirks, like the fact that you like your left side more than your right side! Or that you hold hands a special, unique way.
In addition, you can showcase your personalities in a more casual setting, while creating some fun & memorable images for wall portraits, your wedding guest book, and/or Thank You cards. If your session is scheduled early enough, we can also provide the images for your Save the Date cards and invitations!
Which brings me to how to create the perfect photo(s) for your Save the Date or Wedding Invitation…
I could make a list with all of the best locations or tell you what to wear or how to pose. But, at the end of the day, it really comes down to one simple thing.
In order to create the perfect photo, your image needs to reflect YOU.
YOUR love, YOUR personality, YOUR story.
Do you have a fur child that you can’t get enough of? Do you love to cook together? Do you love coffee shops or book stores? Maybe hiking or sporting events are your thing. Or underwater basket weaving. Whatever you love to do together, whatever says “This is US!” That’s a perfect photo.

What is Paperless Post, you might wonder? I’m so glad you asked! I heard about Paperless Post a few years ago and have since used them for all of my invitation needs! They are like the chic, classy version of Evite (sorry, no offense Evite). Plus, if you’re like me and designing stuff isn’t your forte, they even have professional design services. Woot woot!
One final note about engagement sessions. Engagement portraits can also add another dimension to your wedding album, chronicling your journey from saying “I Do” to becoming husband and wife. Best of all, you can remember this special time forever with personal memories of just the two of you. And that’s exactly what this time is about…just being together, celebrating your love & enjoying each other.
