today was a long day of cleaning…cleaned out my closet, cleaned the house, and i even cleaned our front door. haha! i would have never thought to do that, but today i just realized how filthy it was. so gross. anyway, i’m sure you wanted to know that 🙂
i know you got a sneak peek of this awesome family’s photo shoot last week, but i just wanted to take a few minutes to properly introduce them!
it’s honestly hard to know where to start because i have known the mom, Christen, since i was a little kid 🙂 her dad was the pastor at the church i grew up in, her sister babysat us from time to time, and i’m pretty sure my parents secretly wanted me to marry her brother at one point…lol. i have so many wonderful memories with her and her family. football games in their cul-de-sac, potluck parties, and Christmas caroling around the neighborhood. even though i don’t see her very often, she is still like family. unfortunately, the last time i saw the family was when one of our mutual friends was in the hospital. from what i remember, the twins were babies, and they’re so grown up now. and so adorable!
we went back & forth as to where we should do the photo shoot, but when Christen and her husband, Jefferson, saw how gorgeous it was going to be at the beach, the decision was easy 🙂 we met them down in Newport at Balboa Pier. the fish smell was pretty intense, but it was such a perfect day that we were able to get past it! the kids played on the playground on the beach for a little bit, allowing them to warm up to us and our cameras.
that’s where we got this shot that i shared with you last week. it’s still one of my favorites from the day…Stephen took the 2nd one!
then, we decided to go underneath the pier because it was still pretty bright outside. we played hide and seek around the posts, ran from the waves, and destroyed sand castles.
we ended with some shots on their bikes, before they rode back to their car…
here are a few more of my faves…
thanks so much you guys for such an awesome time! it was so great to see everyone, and we can’t let this much time go by again…seriously.
happy Monday everyone!
xoxo

This pictures are awesome! I’m a bit biased because they are my cousins, but you did a wonderful job capturing them. Those boys simply melt my heart! 🙂
