Foto Focus Friday – Think Outside the Box!

today i just wanted to share a quick photo tip, using an example from last week’s birthday celebration that Stephen and i photographed.

i love having Stephen with me on these shoots.  there are the more selfish, obvious reasons…like the fact that i enjoy his company =)  but i love how he is able to see and capture things that i don’t see.  i think that’s part of what makes us such a great team!

i introduced you to baby Curran in the original post that i did a couple of days ago: Shutters on the Beach Birthday Celebration.  she is the 1st great grandchild, and she is just so adored by everyone.  the minute she entered the room, everyone ran over to see her.  well, while i was getting pictures like this (of the adorable faces she was making while people said hi to her)…

Stephen got this shot…

when i saw it, i just fell in love with it!  i wouldn’t have thought to get the adult’s faces.  and let’s face it (no pun intended!), we all do this when we’re talking to a baby =)  classic!

so, i encourage you to think outside of the box a little on your next photo shoot or outing with your camera.  don’t be afraid to try something different and maybe forgo the more ordinary photo in order to be able to capture something more extraordinary.

happy friday!!!

xoxo
