first of all, for those of you that missed last week’s post on The Go-Giver, you can check it out here: The Go-Giver: Part One
i have been running around like a mad woman today, and i still need to pack for the weekend! we are heading to Sonora for a wedding =) but first, we’re stopping at my folks for my brother’s screening of “My Super Psycho Sweet 16” and a little birthday celebration. go Mattie! he’s going to […]
just a quick post tonight to share the slideshow from this awesome birthday celebration! you can see the original post here: Shutters on the Beach Birthday Celebration music: “You’ll Never Know (Just How Much I Love You)” by Al Martino i hope you all are having a great week! yay for tomorrow being Friday =) […]
i don’t know about you guys, but i’ve been totally digging this weather =) i can’t remember the last time it rained 4 days in a row here! the rain does make it interesting for photo shoots, however. being that i live in southern California, i don’t have the necessary gear to protect my photography […]
Ok, what did your research say? I have about 5 families scheduled for this saturday and it is possibly going to rain! ugh!
Another job well done!
I also want to know what it said about having the camera out in the rain. What do we do in that situation?
thank you so much, Lynda & Christina! as far as what we found, we were specifically researching the Canon 5D and the 24-70mm L series lens (just so you know). some people were VERY adamant about the fact that they would never go out without protective gear, even if it was just misting. some people mentioned a quick fix, though not very pleasing to the eye, of using a plastic bag or trash bag around the body =) however, Canon specifically did tests on the 5D where it was hit with a water bomb and left unharmed. also, the L series lenses specifically have a seal that protects from water damage. not 100% foolproof but, like i mentioned, enough reassurance that i felt okay proceeding with the shoot. i would definitely recommend researching your specific cameras and lenses though! good luck!!
Honey…these are so great! How fun because Fran is not as OCD as I am, so their pics are so real and pretty!!
Love it!
Cindy, sometimes OCD works, like when you need lipstick on your white lips. (!!) In any case, you must be very proud b/c Jess is very talented and fun to shoot with!
mom, you crack me up! i think i should tell Fran about the whole jeans & white tops photos you made us take at the beach =)
fran, thank you so much for your sweet comment!
Jess, my dad is insisting on the jeans and white shirts thing for a family photo. I don’t know the story behind yours but now I want to know because (no offense to anyone please, just a personal thing) I HATE the idea!!!
@Christina haha! it was my mom’s idea. she said she had always wanted to do it, but i personally think she was a little persuaded by last year’s season finale of “Modern Family” =) so, we all got white shirts and went and did a family session down at Newport Beach.
needing a new book to read – Thanks!
Hi Jess, what an honor it is to have John David Mann’s and my book reviewed in your blog post. WOW. Thank you. And, it’s obvious by what you wrote that you truly *get* the message. Thank you, and please know how much your thought is appreciated.
Nancy, I hope you enjoy the read.
Bob
Yay, I am so excited to read your blog the next few Mondays and you have peaked my interest in the book so I think I might have to get myself a copy!! I <3 your blog!!
it’s so great, Christina & Nancy! it’s just really inspirational. and even though some of the concepts might be familiar, i love the unique approach =) i got copies for my whole family, and they all loved it!
Bob, again thank you so much for taking the time to check out my blog and comment! it’s truly my pleasure to do this series…i’m really excited to introduce more people to the “laws of stratospheric success” =) i have them hanging on the mirror in my bathroom, so i keep them fresh in my mind every day!
Thanks Jess for this post! I too will get myself a copy and I look forward to your next posts.
awesome, Diane! thanks so much!
I love it.
So funny, a few years ago my 10 yr old told me that rich people can’t go to Heaven. It is sad how sometimes that is what comes across. I know exactly what you mean.
Continuing to inspire me 🙂
Hi Jess, Wow – I’m greatly enjoying your series and how you are interpreting the message from John David Mann’s and my book. Spot on, my friend!!
@Christina exactly! that’s too funny =)
@Bob awesome! so glad you’re enjoying!
Was waiting for your next “installation” – thanks Jess. I was raised the same way. Very cool how you got a note from Bob!
@Nancy i know, i was so excited when i saw that! i actually just posted Part 3 tonight =) check it out!
