Huntington Beach Babymoon
Stephen and i made a decision soon after we found out we were pregnant that we wanted to go on a babymoon 🙂 for those of you that have never heard of a babymoon, it’s basically a little getaway before the baby comes. most couples do it in the 2nd trimester, when you’re the most comfortable, which is what we did. we researched places all over to find the most affordable and relaxing trip, and found a great deal on Jetsetter for the Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach.
i first heard about Shorebreak last year, when i attended the Me Ra Koh Confidence Workshop 🙂 the hotel hosted our group for the weekend, and i fell in love. it’s right on the water, across the street from the Huntington Beach Pier. what’s not to love?! on top of being a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location, they are also super pet friendly. so, Chandler got to have a little vacation of his own 🙂
we were on the top floor and had a balcony overlooking the ocean, and Chandler had never seen things from that point of view before. needless to say, we were very entertained by his reaction…and the fact that he always left one foot inside the room, just in case! he also enjoyed the dog beach, and some wonderful entrees off of the dog menu in the hotel’s restaurant…including vanilla ice cream with peanut butter and bacon with yogurt. can you say “spoiled”?
but enough about the dog, we had a great time too! when we arrived, we made a list of all of the things we wanted to do during the week…pedicures, reading, ride bikes on the boardwalk, eat good food 🙂
and we actually did everything we wanted to do! we even snuck in some time for a little photography on the pier. Stephen was shooting with the 70-200mm 2.8 and i was shooting with the 24-70mm 2.8 (for those that care…haha). here are some of our faves…
Stephen’s first…
warning: there are a lot of bird shots 🙂 we couldn’t resist all the cute birds at the beach! and they were the most willing models…
and a few of mine…
this store had some of the funniest signs…cracked me up!
told you there were lots of bird photos 🙂 last one, i promise!
hope everyone is having a great week so far! don’t forget to check out the Holiday Mini Sessions if you missed them yesterday!
Thank you so much, Kim! I really appreciate it 🙂 And you’re really crafty which I definitely don’t have the knack for…haha!
