Hello Seattle…

i’m on cloud 9 right now!  a wonderful weekend in Huntington Beach with my camera, followed by 6 days in my favorite place with my favorite person on our one year anniversary.  it doesn’t get much better than this!

Stephen and i have been talking about moving up here since i lived up her a few years ago.  he would come and visit me and he fell just as much in love with the place as i did…thank god!  but as much as we have been talking about it, this is the first time that it’s started to feel real.

we stayed at the Grand Hyatt downtown, which was cool because i’ve never experienced being there on a vacation like this and staying in the heart of the city.  i would highly recommend this hotel, by the way!  the rooms were gorgeous, the staff was very friendly, and we just had a great experience there.

i gave Stephen his anniversary gift a few days early…tickets to a Mariner’s game.  he actually already ruined it a few weeks before by almost buying tickets himself! so, this was where we spent our first night there…so much fun and awesome seats!

we spent some time at Pike Place…

isn’t this fruit just the prettiest stuff you’ve ever seen?!

and we took the ferry to Bainbridge Island…

i just LOVE that skyline.

West Seattle is one of our other favorite places to visit, particularly Alki Beach.

we ate like kings the entire trip.  some of our favorites places included: Ristorante Machiavelli (an amazing italian restaurant in Capitol Hill), Toulouse Petit (a French/Creole joint in Queen Anne, where i had my very first beignets), Trabant Coffee & Chai (the best chai selection i’ve ever seen in an awesome location in U Village), and Palisade Waterfront Restaurant (a seafood restaurant in Magnolia, where we enjoyed our one year anniversary dinner with fantastic food and an unforgettable view).

this is what a real latte looks like (from Trabant…mmmmmmm).

i did sneak some work in while i was there.  in fact, i was editing the photos from the workshop!  i’m almost done with those, so i will post them in a few days.

we remained tourists all the way to the end.  we had to stop at the famous Fremont Troll and check it out on our way to the airport.  here’s stephen digging for gold…

it was such an amazing trip.  thank you so much baby for an awesome first year.  i can’t wait for the rest of them! i love you!
